Gilt & Grit started with one tarnished necklace and one very annoyed cowgirl. We figured jewelry should keep up with the people wearing it — so we built pieces that don't quit when things get sweaty, dusty, or wet.
Why nothing we make tarnishes
Every piece starts as 316L marine-grade stainless steel — the stuff they make boat fittings out of. We bond 18k gold to it with PVD plating (think: gold welded on at the molecular level, not painted), then seal it twice.
And because we're that confident: if any piece ever tarnishes, we replace it free. Forever. That's the whole warranty. One sentence.
